The seven multi-talented musicians of Cornet Chop Suey will give you an exciting traditional jazz and swing show every time presented with gusto and enthusiasm. Relative newcomers on the traditional jazz scene, they've enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity and are now considered one of the top festival bands in the U.S. With at least a century of songs in their repertoire, from the rags and dixie of the early 1900's to contemporary jump, jazz and swing (plus some original material), their high-energy front line and powerful rhythm section produce an exciting new sound and approach that is a proven crowd-pleaser. Their 1st cd "CORNET CHOP SUEY - LIVE" was recorded the old-fashioned way; in a single evening in front of a live audience. The band wanted the recording to have the feel of a 1950's era jazz festival; the sense that you were there for a wonderful captured evening, and that you can be a part of that evening time and time again. The recording was so successful (it's been re-printed several times), that they chose to do their 2nd recording "CORNET MARMALADE" in the same fashion. Their 3rd & 4th cds -"CHOP SUEY & OTHER DELIGHTS" and "WABASH BLUES" - were done entirely in the studio by one of the best recording engineers in St. Louis and are every bit as exciting as a live concert.
